Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

Before live OAuth authorization or YouTube API use, the operator must review and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy through the application's current policy-acceptance command. Use of YouTube API Services is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Do not use the application if you do not agree.

2. Application and authorized use

WasNowForward Publisher is a local Linux desktop and command-line tool for preparing original audiovisual releases and uploading operator-selected videos, metadata, and thumbnails to an authorized YouTube channel. It is not a public upload service and does not grant access to the public.

Use is limited to an authorized operator who controls the destination channel and the Google account used for OAuth authorization.

3. Operator responsibilities

The operator is responsible for reviewing and approving every release, including:

• the video, audio, artwork, and thumbnail;
• the title, description, tags, category, language, and disclosures;
• the made-for-kids designation and any altered or synthetic-media disclosure;
• the visibility, subscriber-notification setting, and any future publication time;
• the exact destination channel and final upload command; and
• post-upload review and publication decisions.

4. Content rights and platform compliance

The operator must own the content or have all permissions necessary to upload and publish it. The operator must comply with applicable law, the YouTube Terms of Service, the YouTube Community Guidelines, and applicable copyright, privacy, publicity, consumer-protection, and advertising requirements.

The application must not be used to upload infringing, deceptive, abusive, unlawful, malicious, or privacy-violating material, or to evade platform restrictions, quotas, audits, enforcement, or technical controls.

5. Credentials and security

The operator must protect the Google account, OAuth Desktop client configuration, operating-system keyring, local computer, and media files. Credentials must not be shared, committed to source control, embedded in public files, or sent to support.

Publisher uses immutable credential versions and fail-closed integrity checks. Inactive historical credential versions may remain in the OS keyring after replacement or revocation and are not selected for active provider use.

If credentials may have been exposed, stop provider operations, use the confirmed revocation procedure, investigate the exposure, and replace credentials where appropriate before resuming.

6. YouTube actions and consent

Any action that uploads, publishes, schedules, or changes visibility must be clearly shown to and expressly approved by the operator before execution. The destination channel, media identity, title, description, audience setting, visibility, thumbnail, and schedule state must remain reviewable.

Every upload requires the application's displayed certification that the content complies with the YouTube Terms of Service, including the YouTube Community Guidelines, copyright, and privacy obligations.

The current bounded live-acceptance authority is private-only. Public, unlisted, scheduled, and unattended publication remain disabled until separately authorized and any applicable YouTube compliance review is complete.

7. Receipts, recovery, and duplicate prevention

Publisher creates strict local receipts and per-release claims to bind the exact media and metadata, preserve provider video identifiers after partial success, record thumbnail and processing outcomes, and prevent an accidental duplicate. The operator must not delete or alter these records to bypass a safety control.

8. Availability and changes

The application depends on the operator's computer, local software, network connection, Google OAuth, YouTube API Services, quota, channel status, and platform policies. Features can fail, change, be suspended, or become unavailable. Uninterrupted or error-free operation is not promised.

The application may be updated, limited, suspended, or retired to address security, legal, policy, platform, or operational requirements.

9. Revocation, suspension, and termination

The operator may stop using the application and revoke Google access at any time. The preferred Publisher procedure is programmatic, remote-first revocation followed by exact local authorization deactivation and profile-bound authorized-data cleanup. Revocation does not delete operator media or content already stored by YouTube.

WasNowForward may suspend use when credentials are compromised, authorization is withdrawn, policy requirements change, platform access is restricted, or continued operation could create legal, security, or compliance risk. Procedures appear on the support page.

10. Disclaimer and responsibility

The application is provided for current operator use on an “as available” basis. The operator remains responsible for verifying every output and release. To the extent permitted by law, WasNowForward does not promise that the application or third-party services will be uninterrupted, complete, secure, or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Jurisdiction-specific governing-law, liability-cap, indemnity, arbitration, and related provisions have not been invented and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before use expands beyond the current single-operator context.

11. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains OAuth keyring storage, YouTube API Services use, immutable credential history, local receipts, processing-status checks, retention, revocation, and deletion.

Revised Terms will be posted here with an updated effective date and policy identity. The application requires acceptance of its current embedded policy identity before live provider use.
